1. Estimate how far to strip jacket. |
2. Mark where to be stripped back to. (I use tape.) |
3. Carefully cut outer casing. (don't cut yourself) |
4. Cut back to mark, remove outer casing and remove braided jute cord. |
5. Remove poly spiral. |
6. Remove jute between the 18 Ga. conductors. |
7. Separate the 18 Ga. conductors from the inner conductors. |
8. Cut out all remaining jute. |
9. Now all conductors are exposed. 20 18Ga., 3 14Ga. and 2 twisted shielded phone pairs. |
10. A picture says it all here. Get them headed the way you need them. |
11. Knock out a 1" KO. |
12. Feed conductors through the hole. |
13. Seat ring nut on the round cable connector connector. (That is not a Romex Connector) |
14. Now you are ready to make connections. |
15. Using crimp connectors makes a neat connection. |
16. The conductors are numbered. Connect to corresponding numbers on terminal blocks. |
17. Neatness counts. Yellow conductors 1 thru 10 are connected. |
18. Orange conductors 11 thru 20 are connected and some wire ties hold conductors in place. |
19. Strip and connect communications pairs. Note the shield is not connected. Just cut it off. |
20. Black and white AC power wires connect to L1b & Nb. The Green connects to ground lug. |
